About this project

About

WAQD exists because so much of our vocabulary lives only in conversation in the regions they are used, and cannot be found anywhere else, verified, or passed on. It is maintained by an individual and collectively built and shaped by contributions from the community it serves.

Bilingual, always

Every entry appears in English and French.

Care over completeness

Some words carry warnings; some are restricted to protect the people connected to them.

Open to contributions

Anyone can suggest a word; the team reviews before it's published.
